1995 Ford Escort RS Cosworth

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is a sporty version of the Ford Escort (Mark V), which was designed to high quality as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, which was on the market in 1993 and 1998. The street version was designed in 1992 and produced in a limited run in 1996. The car was developed based on the chassis and mechanics of the Sierra RS Cosworth, with the larger Cosworth engine and transmission in the housing, and it was also fitted with the body panels of the Escort. The 2-liter turbocharged engine was front-mounted and produced 226 hp in the street version. Group A rally versions officially had 300 hp, and in some rallies even 400 hp. The engine of the official street version delivered a maximum of 227 hp (167 kW) at 6250 rpm, with a maximum torque of 304 Nm. The car required fuel with a minimum octane rating of 95 (Super in Germany).
