This truck prefers to sit right in the middle of a parking lot, surrounded by enthusiastic onlookers who were probably supposed to be somewhere else, but decided to stay just a little longer.The Chevrolet 3100 was the brand's half-ton pickup and belonged to a generation of trucks built to work. This was a tool: sturdy, straightforward, and designed for Americans who genuinely needed a cargo bed.The year 1955 also marked an important transition. Chevrolet replaced its postwar Advance-Design models with the far more modern-looking Task Force series. That new generation brought not only fresher styling, but also helped introduce the small-block V8 to Chevrolet trucks.
