Description

INTRODUCTION

The last real muscle car! Time capsule survivor! Amazing factory colors plus it's the high performance W-72 400 with a four-speed manual trans. Highly documented with the original window sticker and 2 build sheets plus lots more. The original owner took amazing care of this car until 2005. Only 68,600 original miles. You are going to be blown away by its great overall condition and fantastic ride quality!

EXTERIOR

Mostly original paint! The correct Mayan Red color still sparkles under our showroom lights. All the panels are nicely aligned flush and square with good consistent caps that are spot on. It's satisfying looking down the side of the nice straight body. The long heavy doors do not sag when opened and close easily with minimal effort. The rear spoiler and Shaker scoop really enhance the overall profile. The wheel well flares and side scoops not only look tough but are functional too. It does the original and optional screaming chicken on the hood. All the glass is nice and clear. The molded fiberglass front fascia is not warped or cracked. It's rolling on a very correct and attractive set of 15x8 silver snowflake wheels wrapped in beefy Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. And the best part is it doesn't have any pesky t-tops to mess with, which is my personal preference because then they will never leak.

INTERIOR

Factory Oyster interior! This color combination is just over the top gorgeous. I love all the red accents, everything compliments each other so nicely. The seats have their original upholstery plus are still supportive and comfortable. The door panels are also original showing minimal wear consistent with its mileage. The driver side also has a remote mirror toggle. The dash pad does not have any cracks and the machine turned gauge bezel is one of my favorites ever. It has an array of gauges including a tachometer, functioning clock, and odometer showing 68,600 original miles currently. The rear defroster is a very nice option to have and the Clarion AM/FM stereo with cassette was installed a very long time ago. The Hurst 4-speed manual shifter proudly sits atop the spotless center console. It's equipped with a tilt column and the original style steering wheel that's in great condition. The dome light works and the back seat looks like it was never sat in. The carpeting is also original and in great condition with nice GM branded rubber floor mats too.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Strong running! The original 400 cubic inch 6.6 liter W72 engine is still in place, and you're going to be impressed with its performance. She spins like a top and appears to be very original. The Shaker scoop is the cherry on top of the functioning cold air induction system. It is equipped with power steering and power brakes also. The original cowl tag is still in place. The squirters and horns are hooked up plus the battery is properly secured. Some of the hoses and belts have been replaced as needed. The underside of the hood, fenderwells, and firewall all have their original satin black paint.TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and inside the jamb both have original looking Mayan Red paint that is in great shape and still has the jack stickers too. I believe the weather strip was replaced at some point. The inside is nicely carpeted and it's complete with a full jack assembly, space saver spare tire, and original inflation canister. Under the carpet is nice clean metal with original looking satin black paint. The trunk light is working also.UNDERSIDE: Original and well preserved! There is no rust under this car, you can look anywhere. The floors are dry as a chalkboard and it still has the original undercoating from new. It was maintained as needed and has some new bushings in the front end etc. Upgraded handling package with front and rear sway bars and a quick ratio power steering gearbox. Nicely upgraded exhaust system that includes headers, flowmaster mufflers, and the correct splitter tips that sounds totally amazing. And the WS6 package includes four wheel power disc brakes plus many other enhancements. Looking up at the engine everything is nice and clean. It has the original Borg Warner close ratio 4-speed manual transmission. Power gets put to the pavement via the original 10 bolt Safe-T-Track (posi) rear end with 3.23 gearing.SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.CONCLUSION: They are only original once! And this one's as good as they come. With all the great factory options plus all the documentation to confirm its impeccable history, this is the car to buy. An investment quality vehicle that is not going to drain the 401K, and the best part is, you can still have a ton of fun driving it!For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide is my professional opinion based on my experience with these vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed within a museum setting.
