Description

1970 Plymouth Cuda

The Barracuda was a pony car released by Chrysler in 1964. They were initially based on on the Chrysler A body and shared a lot of bodywork with the Valiant. Towards the end of the 60s they were still Valiant based but heavily redesigned before being moved to the exclusive E-body platform only shared by the slightly larger Dodge Challenger. These had a distinctive split front grill design and this one also has the twin bulge hood set up with chrome hood pins. The body of the car is all solid and painted in TorRed (also known as Hemi Orange) and has the Black side stripes with the 383 on the back fenders back. It has the Blacked out rear taillight panel in place and the triple stacked taillights work properly. All of the chrome and stainless is in good condition with a nice shine as is the window trim and 'Cuda emblems. The car rides on nice Rallye "Police Interceptor" style wheels with beauty rings and Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

The drivetrain in the car is all very stock being powered by its 383 topped with a 4 barrel and the 383 Magnum dual snorkel air cleaner. It looks very clean under the hood with with firewall, inner fenders, and radiator support all cleanly painted. The engine runs very strong and is backed up by a 4 Speed manual and the car was also ordered with power brakes from the factory. It sounds great too with the dual exhaust that routes out of the rear valance under the bumper through chrome tips. An upgraded modern AC has been added which utilizes R134 refrigerant and a Sanden compressor.

The interior is done in all Black and is in good condition. It has the factory high back bucket seats with seat belts (3 point front) and the original console with pistol grip shifter. Woodgrain trim can be found on the console and on the dash around the Rallye gauges that include a tachometer and 150mph speedometer. Adjustable vents are located under the dash and the AC blows cold. The trunk is all painted as well and has a Gray mat in place.

This iconic Mopar is a real deal 'Cuda and has a lot going for it. It has been in a private indoor collection since being purchased as is by the previous owner.
