Based on the Belvedere body, the Road Runner was stripped down to become the most minimalist muscle car this side of a Shelby Cobra.Inside, we find a black vinyl interior that has been restored to its original specifications, with the exception of a few tasteful improvements. A roomy split-bench front seat sits in front of a three-spoke, power-assisted steering wheel. An upgraded analog/digital gauge cluster features a 160-mph speedometer and 8,000-rpm tachometer, with a digital display front and center. Two big speakers are mounted under the dashboard and are connected to a hidden Bluetooth radio, while the cueball shifter knob provides even more entertainment than anything on the radio.Under that aggressively styled hood, we find a period-correct 383-cubic-inch overhead-valve V-8 engine. Fed by a single Holley four-barrel carburetor, spent gases are expelled via a set of long-tube headers, dual exhaust, and MagnaFlow mufflers.
